With a focus on clever injection moulding, IDC produced a stylish mini trolley for use in city stores where space is a premium.

IDC understands that the overall customer experience can often make or break a brand. We were approached by DuPont to develop and design a shopping trolley from concept to product implementation.
The development of the plastic shopping trolley needed to provide all the key user functions and performance demands of a traditional trolley, while introducing a new visual style and increasing trolley comfort and features.

IDC worked closely with DuPont during the design and development phases, including the plastic selection.
The team sourced suitable technology partners for the tooling and moulding process, which included the specialist area of gas injection and ultrasonic welding.
IDC was responsible for the project management of the multinational team during the production of the multi-million dollar tooling programme.

The end result was a shopping trolley with a magnificent aesthetic and ergonomic design, which had the potential to vastly improve the overall shopping experience.
