IDC Launches Sustainable Design Training Service

International product design and development company, IDC (Industrial Design Consultancy), is delighted to announce a new training support service to help companies understand how sustainability fits their business and they can implement sustainable design as a key part of their design process.

For over five years IDC has provided a host of sustainable design services, ranging from lifecycle assessment services and supplier sustainability audits, right through to full product development. This new training service has been welcomed by clients as a means of equipping their design teams with a thorough understanding of sustainability and what it means to their company, so they are able to build a roadmap for the future.

The sustainable design training will take the form of interactive workshops that are specially tailored to the individual needs of each company. These will provide in-depth discussion of sustainable design, tools and techniques, right through to actually defining strategies and solutions. The ultimate aim of each workshop will be to help the company make key business decisions about sustainable product development, so they can implement sustainable design as a fully integrated part of the company’s own development process.

IDC’s MD, Stephen Knowles, explains, “We’ve had a wave of training requests recently which have led to incredibly successful sustainable design workshops for clients. It has made us realise that our clients can benefit from our unique knowledge - with years of experience placing sustainability at the heart of our own design process, we know it has the power to drive innovation, quality and economic growth, improve reputation and consumer demand. We understand that implementing sustainable design can be challenging, but we can do much to support clients with this new hands-on training service.”
