IDC's MD, Stephen Knowles, was a keynote speaker at the 5th Injection, Blow, Roto & PET Moulding Summit held in Mumbai, India, earlier this month.
Sharing his knowledge about plastics in design, Stephen provided advice about how to ensure a successful collaboration between designers and moulders; stressing the importance of an open flow of information and helping to create a clear understanding of the ideal scenario at each stage of the design process.
Stephen commented, "Innovation can be risky, so it's crucial that the designer and moulder have an effective relationship right from the start. They need to be able to work together to overcome any obstacles or challenging parts of the manufacturing process. Innovation usually requires more manufacturing effort and can be a process of negotiation to find the ultimate solution. Be ambitious and achieve more!"
