IDC was invited to speak at the 12th Medical Product Forum for the Application of Rubber, Plastics and Innovative Materials in Shanghai recently. An audience of professionals from a wide variety of industries came together to learn about the latest technologies, trends and solutions related to medical devices. As the only medical product design consultancy present, IDC hosted a lively session which talked about the process of innovation and its experience designing medical devices for China and the rest of the world.

IDC China’s MD, YiFei Dai, discussed the impact of materials on the user experience and highlighted the requirements for quality and safety standards in medical devices. She also presented cutting-edge medical products designed by IDC which demonstrated innovative use of materials in wearable medical devices and for drug delivery. A key focus was the selection of safe materials for the duration of the product’s life cycle to improve the safety and user experience for patients.
