IDC to host Free Sustainable Design Workshop

As an award winning product design consultancy and leader in sustainable innovation, Industrial Design Consultancy (IDC) is delighted to announce that it will be running a FREE workshop which aims to help businesses implement sustainable product solutions. This is normally a chargeable event, but by partnering with Brunel University Co-Innovate (which provides innovation support to London based SMEs), it has been possible to make it free to all. The workshop will take place at the Royal Institution in London on October 22nd, from 9am to 2pm.

The workshop will help businesses realise the business benefits of sustainability leading to an improved reputation. It will equip delegates with a thorough understanding of the key issues surrounding sustainable product design and will support them in formulating strategies and actions to help their own products become more sustainable.

IDC will talk about its own experience of sustainable product development and the benefit of having lifecycle analysis and sustainability as a fully integrated part of the design process. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will also be presenting at the workshop; drawing on knowledge of JLR’s development process, as well as its involvement in the multi-million pound Low Carbon Vehicle Technology Project.

IDC’s MD, Stephen Knowles, comments, “Sustainability is on the radar of all product manufacturers, but how many have actually taken the step to implement sustainability into the design process? We’re delighted to be working with Brunel Co-Innovate to make this workshop free to all who attend, so we can help organisations benefit from a more sustainable approach to product development and take advantage of the opportunities this presents.”

The workshop is expected to be popular, so early registration is advised. To attend, simply register online at: http://designplus.org.uk/events/sustainable-design/
