IDC Celebrates China Red Star Design Award For Success in China

International product design agency, Industrial Design Consultancy (IDC), is delighted to have received a Gold Award at the China Red Star Design Awards for its design success in China with the XFT CPR Assistant. The China Red Star Design Award is an annual award organised by the Beijing Industrial Design Center (BIDC). It aims to recognise and promote outstanding industrial design in China. The awards are known as the 'Oscars' of the Chinese design industry.

Three years ago, IDC first entered the China market and the company has gone from strength to strength since, with a subsidiary company in Hong Kong and an office in Shanghai. Stephen Knowles, Industrial Design Consultancy's Managing Director explains, 'This award means a lot to us, as it not only proves that we can design world class products for Chinese clients but also demonstrates that IDC's designs are suited to the domestic Chinese markets.'

IDC's relationship with Chinese design and manufacturing has also brought some great benefits for its clients in the UK. The fact that IDC has a multi-national and multi-lingual team of experts on the ground in China has enabled it to offer design and production support to clients worldwide. As part of this, IDC's rapid prototyping and model making division, IDC Models, has launched a new injection moulding service. IDC has partnered with a Chinese tool maker to offer a full range of injection moulding services, suitable for both small and large scale projects. IDC's China team are on-hand to oversee the process in China, saving the client valuable time and money.

Stephen Knowles was presented with IDC's Red Star Design Gold Award at the ceremony in Beijing on November 18th, where as the only overseas winner, he was asked to address the ceremony with his perspective on design in China.
