As a leading, globally recognised product design company, IDC knows the value of a great team of industrial designers and engineers that can make your product a success, this is why we insist on a multi-national as well as multi-disciplinary team for both our UK and China branches.
Team work and collaboration is key to our success. For all their diversity and complementary skills, our staff share a common desire to solve problems and take on new challenges to develop successful products for our clients and their customers.
IDC frequently works with organisations across the globe and has multilingual designers to support this; spoken languages include French, German, Italian, Dutch, Serbo-Croat, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Mike Pratt: General Manager
Michael is the General Manager of IDC China. An MEng graduate from Brunel University, he is also a Design Engineer and Project Manager in the IDC China team and is responsible for ensuring the world-class quality of design and engineering of IDC China. He has experience developing breakthrough technologies, designing new products and devices in industrial and consumer sectors, and he has Red-Dot award-winning products in the medical sector.
Robbie Wilson: Design Engineer
With a university backing in both Mechanical Engineering and Product Design, Robbie has developed a range of skills for tackling a project from both perspectives. With expertise in detailed research and analysis, he has worked both in the UK and in China on a wide variety of projects. These included high proficiency in complex mechanisms, plastic molding and metalwork; also undertaking the role of lead engineer on several medical devices.
Dawn Tang: Industrial Designer
Graduated in Industrial Design and Development from Singapore and MA in Design Studies, Central Saint Martin, London. With working experience in both design consultancy and multi-national corporations she has a good understanding of design, manufacturing and implementation processes. Dawn is sensitive to market trends and user experience and has had many consumer products launched in the market.
Jason Lin: Design Engineer
Jason graduated from Hefei University of Technology, studying Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation. As a mechanical design engineer, he has several years' experience in surgical product development and specific automatic equipment design. Much of his automation design has been given to the client and is working and proven on the production line. Jason is skilled at product design, creating new ideas and solution concepts, including complex mechanisms.
Jaoui Liu: Studio Coordinator
Jaoui graduated from the University of Burgundy, Dijon, France, with two bachelor's degrees in Corporation Management and International Business. She is fluent in Mandarin, English and French. Her years of experience in multinational corporations, brings excellent client communication and project management skills, patience and attention to detail. Jaoui enables the IDC team to maximize effectiveness by managing client communications and offering multilingual support between Chinese clients and global IDC designers and engineers.
