Series 8 Active Cool

The Series 8 'ActiveCool' is an automated closed cup flash point tester with a temperature range of -20 to 130˚C. Series 8 is the latest product in Stanhope-Seta's range of Setaflash instruments. It updates the Series 7 models incorporating a number of new features:

          an electronic or gas flame igniter
peltier heating and cooling allowing a shorter test cycle
testing at, or below ambient temperature
and an upgraded user interface with a colour LCD screen and soft key controls.

IDC worked with Stanhope-Seta to help develop the layout and appearance of the product. The design is based on an understanding of the user interaction with the unit, and an emerging look and feel being developed by Stanhope-Seta for their product range based on a distinctive twin column look.

IDC also helped with the design of the new user interface. By exploring a number of approaches including soft button and wizard based models, IDC was able to create a new generation of UI for Stanhope Seta products.

Detail design and development of the internal chassis and external casework.

Identify potential manufacturing approaches and manufacturers.

IDC now manufacture the moulded base and top covers for the production unit.
