‘Bondi’ range of BBQ‘s

IDC designed a barbecue, which changed the brand view of the B&Q Company as well as their range of products. The design was the most successful barbecue up to date, selling in the thousands.

IDC realised early on in the project that it wasn’t just about redesigning a barbecue that would sell; it was about redesigning a brand that consumers would recognise and trust. Working closely with the B&Q team and the selected Chinese manufacturers, IDC was able to circumnavigate the normal design and development processes to create a superlative product. The barbecue was aesthetically pleasing, as well as ergonomic and cost effective. Together with developing a product range that far exceeded initial sale targets, it also enabled B&Q to become a market leader in the UK barbecue market place.

IDC created the Bondi brand, which was expanded to encompass a wide selection of B&Q Garden and Leisure products.
