Raising social awareness to children and adults was an important aspect to Angel Star Limited. They wanted to achieve this by marketing the cross-cultural dolls with the objective of supplying disadvantaged children in need around the world, with a soft replica for every doll sold. IDC was asked to translate the 2 dimensional illustrations of the 4 Angel stars doll concepts into 3 dimensional production dolls of high quality. It was a requirement to sculpt and create realistic characters that allowed a range of characteristic body movements.

IDC managed the project and was responsible for all aspects of development including sculpture, outfits, accessories, packaging, selection and management of manufacturer. IDC also carried out research on standards and environmentally friendly materials for the dolls. A range of accessories for each character was developed from concept sketches. Tooling and the manufacturing process were also managed, from pre – production prototypes to evaluation of tooling and parts approval.

The final dolls were created to look beautiful, be fun to play with, and were strongly made so that the enjoyment continued for many years. The Angel Stars dolls are a range of exciting play dolls and action figures that appeal to all ages. Each doll will delight and enchant its owner, with the introduction to help develop compassion and understanding in the minds of the children who play with them.
