Popular Webcast Marking WIDD Made Available to All

Despite global events staged by numerous countries, IDC was the only UK industrial design agency to mark the significant day and its webcast was viewed by hundreds of followers of the WIDD events programme across the world.

The webcast entitled Industrial Design – Global Markets, Local Solutions looks at the globalisation of product design and the essential role a designer can play. Stephen Knowles, managing director of IDC and Marc Tanner IDC Head of Industrial Design, explore the importance of understanding cultural and commercial subtleties in international markets and how the designer’s insights can contribute in a meaningful, sustainable and commercially successful way to a product’s development.

The webcast is the first in a forthcoming series of video downloads available from the product development agency’s website www.idc.uk.com, which will discuss various hot topics in industrial design today.

WIDD is a major day in the world design calendar introduced by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), ‘in order to raise awareness about the benefits of industrial design in improving our quality of life.’ The day brings designers together to acknowledge the merits of the profession, and aims to foster a public understanding of industrial design and all that it encompasses.
