IDC Helps Launch Design Council Initiative
October 2006Managing Director Stephen Knowles gave a talk entitled ‘Commercially Effective Design — reducing the risk of product innovation.’ as part of the launch of the Design Council’s Designing Demand programme for businesses. The programme is intended to assist businesses to use design to improve their performance. Stephen’s talk looked at the following key issues
Why winning products need user centre design
Why product must be developed quickly
How to build the right development team
How to plan the development to reduce risk and cost
How to implement the development to the plan
The launch was part of the Thames Valley Innovation Conference which was held in Reading and attracted over 600 business delegates, drawn from innovative, technology and knowledge based companies. The one day conference was for businesses, innovators, advisers and inventors who wished to achieve greater levels of commercial success from their ideas, innovations and investments.
