Innovative ‘mother and baby’ design

Daily Express 14 September 2005
"HIGH demand is expected for a new British-made cot that for the first time allows mother and baby to sleep safely within touching distance alongside each other. The BedNest is the handiwork of grandmother Cilla Labouchere, who was spurred into designing the cot after research from the childhood charity Right From The Start suggested aggression in later life could be reduced by infants having immediate contact with their mothers during the night.

Labouchere’s patented BedNest marks a breakthrough — it fits securely to the side of the bed and provides instant access between parent and baby."

"Developing the BedNest cot has been a very British affair, with entrepreneur Cilia Labouchere working with Industrial Design Consultancy in Datchet, near Windsor, Berkshire."
